Email: [email protected] Phone: (301)-314-1068 Office: 3124 Plant Sciences Building Lab: 3182 Plant Sciences Building Major: Entomology Ph.D. and M.S., Environmental Toxicology B.S. Research Interests: I work to improve agricultural sustainability and productivity while protecting human health and the environment, using the integrated pest management paradigm. In particular, I am focused on understanding insect interactions with free-living microorganisms, evaluating and optimizing pest management programs, and developing alternative management tactics in small fruit and grain crops. |

Email: [email protected] Major: Plant Biology B.S. Research Interests: I am interested in plant-insect interactions and integrated pest management, both in agricultural and ornamental systems. Em KohanskiResearch Technician
Email: [email protected] Major: Religious Studies B. S. Research Interests: I tend to experiments being done in the lab and in the field. I assist with data collection and lab maintenance. |
Arthur YoungResearch Technician
Email: [email protected] Major: Biology B.S., Biodiversity M.S. Research Interests: I am interested in chestnut-insect interactions, conservation biology and practical applications of entomology. Also interested in learning more about insects in agricultural systems and sustainable approaches to pest management. |
Undergraduate Student Researchers
Guthrie SpechtStudent Researcher
Email: [email protected] Major: Plant Biology Research Interests: I am interested in all things plants. Agriculture and plant insect interactions were things I didn’t have experience with so this lab seemed like a good fit. I like being able to do work in the field and have an interest in fruit. |
Erilyn MesserleStudent Researcher
Email: [email protected] Major: Plant Biology Research Interests: I am interested in the relationship between insects and plants! I love being outside and seeing new things so the Hamby lab was a perfect fit! |
